Absolutely! If you are purchasing or have already purchased one and it has a water feature or pond we are more than happy to help you. It is a smart idea to hire a professional pond contractor to help clean, assess and educate you on your garden feature or pond. The investement of hiring a professional to figure out what you need to maximise your enjoyment is well worth it.
In our years of experience we know that not all ponds and features are built the same. Our qualified team can be called out to clean, assess and educate you on your feature. We refer this as a exploratory drain and clean.

Of course they are, children love all that comes with a professionally built water feature. The sight and sound of water has an amazing quality of attracting all kinds of wildlife, such as birds, bees, butterflies and even a mammal or two such as a thirsty hedgehog or a passing badger. Remember those nature filled walks along the country stream, it's those memories and ideals we capture when designing and building for you and your family in your garden.
Unlike conventional bare liner ponds, which are slippery and without purchase, we instead incorporate rocks and gravel into all our ponds. Not only contributing a critical component in keeping your pond clear, it also provides grip under foot and on hands, letting children do what they do best, explore.
If it is an open body of water that is your concern then have a look at our Pondless Waterfall or Fountainscapes. Both of these features have all the thrills and excitement of moving water but without an open body of water.

In short: no. Mosquitos will generally lay their eggs on stagnant water, in a functioning ecosystem pond the water is constantly moving and circulating. Also, if you are keeping fish in your ecosystem pond the chances are even lower of those unwanted critters, as even if they manage to lay eggs the larvae will be consumed by the fish as a nice natural treat, and whatever is missing is swept up by the skimmer.

Running costs for our features can start from as little as 1p per hour. Obviously this is dependent on the size of the feature as a larger ecosystem pond will require a more powerful pump, but even with lights and an Autodoser still only comes in at approximately 6p per hour.
With modern technology ever advancing, there is no need to be using those cheap and unreliable pumps. Often these pumps are very power hungry and although a cheaper purchase, the price per hour can start costing 20-30p. This equates between £33.60-£50.40 a week, and that is just on the pump. The main culprits for these extortionate prices are often sump pumps, and, we believe if we’re trying to look after the planet then these shouldn't be used.
We only use high quality, energy efficient components with our ponds and water features. With the design for our pumps being a mag-driven, this essentially means once the pump is running the magnetics inside help to keep the motor spinning without as much use of electricity. This ensures a hassle-free, low cost running feature. Allowing you to sit back and enjoy for many years to come.

Yes you absolutely should! Proper filtration and aeration are 2 of the essential components in providing a complete ecosystem and are provided by the pumps for your pond. Without the constant water flow there will be no aeration from the water flowing out of the Biofalls and the beneficial bacteria that has built up on the filter pads will denature and die. Therefore when turning the pumps back on it may take time for the beneficial bacteria levels to build back up. Turning off your pump can incur a number of risks, including water stagnation, undesirable algae build and spikes in ammonia and other harmful components.

The answer to this question is subjective to your pond! There are many components when considering how much maintenance you should carry out on your pond, to name a few, light exposure, fish load, and the surrounding environment.
A general rule we recommend at least 4 visits each year to mirror the seasonal changes. With these 4 visits, it allows us to assess the health and condition of your pond throughout the year, being able to remedified any problems that may occur.
1. Spring wake up call (a beneficial bacteria top up).
2. Mid-summer pamper (algae control treatment).
3. Autumn spruce-up (enzymatic top up for organic breakdown).
4. Winter shut down (treatment with cold water bacteria)
A big advantage of our ecosystem ponds is that they have been designed and tested to be low-maintenance systems. So instead of cleaning your horrible mucky pressure filter every other week, the ecosystem with all the components operating will give you a much lower maintenance burden.

Yes you can! Although your current pond may not be an exisiting ecosystem pond, we still recommend oxygenating the water. Through the installation of a stream/waterfall it provides an abudance of oxygen.
Please contact us to discuss any add-ons you wish for your current pond.
